Mckinley High School 150th Commemorative Book
We are excited to share that President William McKinley High School will soon be celebrating its 150th anniversary! In 1865, Maurice B. Beckwith established the Fort Street English Day School. Though the school's name has changed to McKinley High School, the once small day school is now a prominent public high school in the state. Through the 2015-2016 school year, McKinley will be celebrating its 150 years through several events that will showcase this momentous milestone.
In commemorating this special occasion, we will be publishing a book that displays McKinley’s 150 years of history, stories, changes, and tradition. We are requesting your help in gathering the following from our alumni:
1. Stories they would like to share
-School traditions, favorite classes or teachers, student events, favorite pastimes
2. Photographs of their favorite time or memory at McKinley
-Brief description about what the picture displays
3. Original recipes
-Name of the dish and a description of why that dish is special to them
-Picture preferred
4. Photos showcasing the changes in fashion over the years
Submissions may be emailed to [email protected]. We will also accept originals or copies turned in at the office or sent through the post office. Because of the volume of submissions, we are sorry but cannot guarantee that we will be able to return originals. We request that submissions include the
graduation year so we can credit the authors accurately.
